CAR: Audi R8 LMS GT3

HIGH-CALIBRE TECHNOLOGY

The delivery of Audi Sport customer racing’s 200th GT3 car in July 2016 was a milestone. Since 2009 the Audi R8 LMS has taken the scene by storm, and no other manufacturer has achieved so many unit sales.

The current generation, which has been in customers’ hands since 2016, combines the experience of more than 1,000 races with the previous model. Audi combines high lightweight qualities of the 1,225 kilo sports car with a unique safety concept, which even meets the requirements for LMP racing cars during crash tests.

In addition there is distinctive efficiency in, for example, aerodynamics and running times. So the 430 kW (585 hp) powered production-like V-10 unit only needs revising after 20,000 kilometres.
